Programs in every federal department suffer from fraud, cost overruns, and other types of mismanagement.

They have to lie about the costs. It is the only way

The truth is that health-care reform is going to cost us a lot. And we're going to pay for it in higher taxes and more debt.

No wonder they don't want us to know.

Hiding behind the Hyde Amendment

http://www.sba-list.org/site/c.ddJBKJNsFqG/b.5489321/k.656C/Stop_Hiding_Behind_Hyde.htm

One of the issues that splits with libertarians is abortion. We do not believe in compulsion in anything. This causes a bit of a problem for us, as some believe that woman should have the choice to have the abortion, while as others believe you are "compelling" the baby to be dead. I hold the latter opinion. But, I also believe women should have the choice, what I dont believe is that I should subsidize it. Nor should other people who do not share the same viewpoint as me have to subsidize it. The Hyde Amendment does not make it so that HR3200 will not use government funds for abortion. In the public option, everyone would have to pay part of their premiums to help subsidize abortions, that is the language. When people say the Hyde Amendment will stop this, they are just frankly wrong.
